Amelia Kaminski is a professional Edmonton-based musician with over 40 years of experience. She began her formal studies in the Bachelor of Music Program at the University of Alberta majoring in piano, then transferring into the string program the following year. Amelia also studied at Grant MacEwan College in the Jazz program.  She has sought mentorship from “The Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddling School” with Scottish Violinist Alasdair Fraser, Irish master Martin Hayes, and Cape Breton legend, Buddy MacMaster. She attended the “Willy Clancy School” in Ireland and the “Ashokan Fiddle and Dance Camp” (Northern Week) in Upper State, New York. Amelia’s career as a performer, producer and recording artist has taken her throughout Canada, the USA, Scotland, France, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Austria, and Denmark. Having developed her own teaching methodology for learning by ear, based on ancient Scottish piping techniques, she is currently an established music instructor specializing in a variety of musical styles including, Scottish, Cape Breton, Irish, Old Time, light Classical and French-Canadian.
